A Comfortable Framework for the Masses

Guy Gudes: I now understand what you said correctly, that everyone is dependent only on oneself—only that. And if he wants to gain some wisdom, he himself must open The Book of Zohar, Kabbalah.

Rav Michael Laitman, PhD: And apart from this, I think I know the books of Kabbalah, and no book writes that you have to do these kinds of things: to distribute blessings, to do something with people, unless you do these things to comfort the person, which is okay.

Guy Gudes: This is called raising his spirits.

Rav Laitman: Yes, but no more than that.

Guy Gudes: Things have become very commercial, very commercial. And as I said before, many people, for the sake of their health, as you said, for the momentary strengthening of the body and soul are ready to give all they have.

Rav Laitman: If they have faith that there are powers in the world that can be used to change ones fate, that is already a good thing. The next phase would be for the person to see how he can reach these powers himself and change his fate, if this and that doesn't help him. It is a phase on the way to the recognition of evil and the proper demand for correction.

If you ask me whether... excuse me. If you ask me whether I am against these things that are done, I am not against them. I generally think that all the things which appear in the world are for the good of humanity. But the truth must also be shown. Thus whoever is ready to hold onto the truth will take it, and if not, will go to all kinds of people who give blessings and different kinds of advice.

Guy Gudes: All kinds of therapists and healings that have now come in strongly.

Rav Laitman: No, healing is something else. These are the powers of the soul within us with which we can influence one another. They are already palpable things. These energies exist in us.

Guy Gudes: They’ve been proven?

Rav Laitman: Yes, I examined it in myself. The scientist discovers by himself.
